Synopsis: After winding up a WWII-era tale of life on the battlefield, Cap leaves his Avengers mates and returns to his quarters, reflecting back in solitude to his last battle with the Red Skull. There, the defeated Nazi villain heckled Cap that, though he may die, the Nazi menace would live on with the coming of Der Tag, the day when the Sleepers would rise and reestablish Nazi dominance.

Steve realizes that the day the Skull warned him about may be nigh, and he picks through the papers inside a strongbox claimed from the Skull afater their last meeting. Inside, he finds a paper with a list of names associated with three Nazi agents who Steve believes will awaken the Sleeper.

At that very moment, Agent Von Kimmer, dressed in his SS garb, summons Bavarian villagers to help him ring in Der Tag! They head to a mountain hideout where, after they pull down a rock facing in front of a cave, a robot emerges, firing destructive lasers from his metal arms. The Sleeper has awakened!

Shortly after parachuting into Bavaria, Cap traces a line of terrified villagers fleeing their homes back to its origin, where he first lays eyes on the Sleeper. He tries to fight back against the giant robot, but the robot seems impervious to the effects of Cap's shield.

Meanwhile, in Telbeck, Agent Erica Wolfmann receives a call....the second Sleeper must be woken!
