Synopsis: (continued from ST #137)

Dr. Strange enters the fantastic world of Eternity, a land which "defies description." He finally sees a microcosm of a universe, bubbling and crackling with energy, which forms itself into the image of a human. He now stands in front of Eternity, who tells him to be silent while he speaks. He tells Dr. Strange that the only mortal he had ever taken audience with was the Ancient One. In order to grant Dr. Strange the power he needs, he must reflect on his worthiness. Dr. Strange can barely understand what is going on, and after a brief respite, Eternity returns and tells Dr. Strange he is not going to grant him the power he came to request. The reason being- he does not need it to face the current task. Dr. Strange departs, scarcely knowing what to do next, after his long ordeal to find Eternity has produced no tangible results. He returns to the Ancient One's hostel and finds him gone and the attendant transfixed by a spell. The spirit wraiths beckon Dr. Strange to follow them to where the Ancient One is held captive...by Baron Mordo! Dr. Strange now stands in audience with Baron Mordo, holding the Ancient One captive, while Dormammu cackles from his dimension, holding the life of Clea in the balance.

(continued in ST #139.)
