Secret
Origins of the Super DC Heroes |
|
An indispensible collection of the origin stories
of all the DC big guns, in both their Golden Age and Silver Age
versions: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern,
Hawkman, The Atom, Green Arrow, plus the Golden Age origins of Plastic
Man and Captain Marvel. Probably the most important single DC superhero
collection.
-- James Friel
Neal Adams gorgeous cover highlights my favorite collection of
origin stories as a kid.

Fantastic
Four Masterworks Vol. 6
|
|
The peak of the Lee-Kirby run on Fantastic Four was in many people's
opinion the issues between #40 and #60.
Heres's the second half of that run, featuring characters introduced
in the previous ten issues: The Inhumans, the Black Panther, and
the Silver Surfer. Lee, Kirby, and Sinnott at their peaks on the
comic that best embodied the early Marvel Age.
-- James Friel
The Kirby/Lee team defined the FF and they were at their peak form
in this volume. Some spotty reproduction in
places but I was willing to overlook it.
